OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

The carob tree inspired us to create our Industry 4.0 model, with cleaner and more efficient production.

Carob tree cultivation thrives in an untouched, natural environment without the use of fertilizers or irrigation systems, moreover the roots of the carob tree prevent the land’s hydrogeological instability. We work with a short supply chain, without chemical elements and with a circular economy approach, which allows us to recycle 99,85% of production waste. To improve this model, we have recently built a new and more efficient carob bean gum production plant which has doubled our capacity whilst further reducing waste and water consumption.

Since the beginning, we chose, as much as possible energy from natural and renewable sources for our production plants and offices. Recently, we have increased our natural renewable energy production by tripling our solar panels.

Furthermore, we can proudly say that we are 100% chemical free. It simply is our mindset, which drives us to continuously improve our production process. Our current challenge is to eliminate the use of all plastic inside each production plant and within our offices and to source alternate solutions. We are constantly investing in more advanced, clean technological solutions to improve our fully automated plants. 

Our on-going commitment is to guarantee hi-performance natural ingredients through a sustainable, planet-first production.

ENVIRONMENTAL

SUPPLY CHAIN AND TRACEABILITY

Promotion of sustainable farming practices, ensuring traceability of the integrated supply chain from the carob tree to flour, along with careful selection of suppliers based on ethical and environmental criteria.

RESPONSIBILITY TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Reduction and eventually 100% removal of plastic-packaging, continuous implementation of energy efficiency initiatives and renewable-energy solutions, along with recovery of waste materials and water used in the production processes with a view to further improve our circular economy practices.

Research and development of new food products to meet emerging food needs, ensuring and maintaining the highest food quality and safety. Valorisation of all by-products and up-cycling through the development of new products for new applications and new markets.
